4 – Starcraft 2 – “Who Wants Some?!”
Starcraft 2 alone could fill this whole list with the amount of things its units say, some of which are funny as hell, especially the Marauder ones, with “Kaboom, baby”, “Baby, you really light my fuse” and “Premature detonation”, but when I think about Starcraft 2, the first that jumps into my mind are the Terran Marines, the iconic jack of all trades footsoldier, and it’s “get things done” aggressive attitude is perfectly represented by its voice lines “You want a piece of me, boy?” “Armed and ready!”, but my all-time favorite has to be “Who wants some?!”, which is said in an almost sing-along kind of way. For some reason, it just stuck with you. Do you have any Starcraft 2 line that’s your favorite too?
3 – Age of Mythology – “Prostagma”
Another voice line, another meme, for no good reason, but it’s funny nevertheless. I don’t know what else to tell you, but there’s something in the way the villagers of Age of Mythology say “Prostagma” that made players chuckle, even if the word just means that a command has been issued.
2 – Red Alert 2 – “Kirov Reporting”
“Kirov reporting” is a voice line from the Red Alert 2 that has become iconic due to the Kirov airship, a sort of Soviet zeppelin-like bomber becoming widely recognized by players due to its unique design, and artstyle that screams B-movie due to how ridiculous it looks, with outer bomb bays and a shark-like mouth and eyes, which looks just very silly, but this is Red Alert 2 we are talking about, so a zeppelin bomber in a world where Tesla towers, time-travel and weaponized giant squids exist, isn’t the most insane of concepts. In fact, it might be the sanest one. “Kirov reporting” is the kind of voice lines that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand at attention, and if you have never had a “Kirov reporting” to you, can you truly say you have lived a full and fulfilling life? I don’t think so.
