Well, I guess we’re currently suffering from the expected GTA 6 phenomenon, as gaming companies are now going dark with any major news and announcements. I don’t think we’ve had such a slow-moving week in… Well, forever. I searched as I might online and scoured as I can in my email, and there’s just not a whole lot going on that’s worth covering, so let’s get this week done and over with, and take advantage of the extra free time to play some games. This week I’ll be playing a strange pick, because I’m finally diving into Hogwarts Legacy, waving my wand around instead of having to constantly move chips on hexes.
Company of Heroes 3 – Operation Torch New Singleplayer DLC
The big announcement this week is that Company of Heroes 3 is getting its first single-player-focused DLC. Took you long enough, didn’t it, Relic? I do think RTRS developers massively underestimate how much their audience prefers single-player content instead of multiplayer faction and map packs. Anyway, Operation Torch is going to feature a narrative-driven campaign set during the titular operation that first pitted the American forces against the Germans in North Africa. The 15 missions will be drawn from real battles, events, and operational problems that arose during the campaign, and the combat will begin with the landings and end at Hill 609.
For the Wehraboos among you, I’m sorry to disappoint, but the game’s campaign will be solely told from the perspective of the Americans.
I’m personally super excited for this, especially because when announcing the mission structure, each one of these missions is supposed to spotlight a unit or a battlefield capability, and I just love that kind of linear design, especially these days, where that’s very rare, and to be fair, my time is also extremely limited.
Decisive Campaigns: Twilight In The East Out November 12th

It was during the Home of Wargamers 2026 that Twilight In The East, the latest wargame from the Decisive Campaign series, was announced, and Slitherine and Matrix just came out and said that the game is releasing on November 12th. Just in case you skipped the Home of Wargamers announcement, let me quickly fill you in: Twilight in the East will cover an array of battles from Operation Barbarossa in 1941, and combat and maneuvering will happen at the battalion level with 1km per hex, and each day will be comprised of 4 turns. I’m very excited to play this one, because I’m sure you’ll remember that the previous game in the series, Ardennes Offensive, was the first game to overtake the Strategy and Wargaming Seal of Approval.
Wargame Design Studio – Panzer Campaigns: El Alamein ’42

Well, it looks like this week was entirely dedicated to early World War 2 action, and the game of the week from Wargame Design Studio is not any different. Zooming into the actions that made both Rommel and Montgomery legendary generals, Panzer Campaigns: El Alamein includes 80 scenarios playable from both sides, a master map that covers the entire North African coastline with over 175,000 hexes, and the respective orders of battle for the armies that took part in the action, and some additional OOB for what-if situations as well.
This is all I got for you this week in terms of strategy and wargaming news! I suspect things will be similar until GTA 6 finally comes out and announcement schedules can return to normal. Hey, like I said, sometimes weeks like these are great because I can now spend more time playing!
Support Strategy and Wargaming
I do what I do in Strategy and Wargaming because I love to do this, and I’m never going to stop. If you would like to support me with that, you can buy me a coffee for a dollar if you’re feeling generous. If you can’t, no worries, Strategy and Wargaming will always be free, and I’d love to have you around!
