1 – Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition
It’s Stronghold, but with a lot more variety to it, and it’s set during the Crusades. That would be the whole pitch for Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition, I would imagine. In all seriousness, I have reviewed Stronghold Crusader: Definitive Edition and found it to be quite awesome, and the amount of new content and improvements made to the Definitive Edition make it an experience very much worth playing through and one of the best strategy games of 2025. As someone who has played both Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader every year for 23 years, this was a dream come true, and it’s the best game you can buy in the Steam Medieval Festival. If you have never played the original, this is the best way to experience it in 2025 and going forward.
Great Medieval Games Without Breaking Your Coffers
This was a bit of a shorter list than usual, but the fact of the matter is that the Steam Winter Sale is upon us, and I’m sure a lot more Medieval strategy games will go on sale then, and I’ll be here to highlight those worth buying as well.
