Chris’s Recommendations For The Steam Autumn Sale 2025

VR Games

I like to put VR games that can use full VR controls in the VR section, where you don’t need anything else.

VTOL VR $19.49

Best modern flight sim in VR with full VR controls. No HOTAS needed.

Carrier Command 2 $14.99

The ultimate naval war game. It’s a perfectly designed game of being some type of sci-fi aircraft carrier, but VR needs to be updated. Can be a bit woozy.

BattleGroupVR $19.99

Best tactical space sim in VR. You won’t understand until you try it.

Tactical Assault VR $12.95

Best tactical Shooter in VR. Some gamers are downvoting the game cause they added some DLC they didn’t like.

Contractors $14.99

You can play Call of Duty and Halo maps like you’re in 2007.

Guardians Frontline $8.74

Like StarShip Troopers, but in VR, where you have a tower defense-type army.

Warplanes: WW1 Fighters $9.99

Best standalone WW1 flight game in VR. A blend of arcade and realism. Best in the series. Don’t care for their WW2 game cause you can only be an annoying American pilot.

WarDust $12.49

Best Battlefield game in VR. Personally, my favorite shooter in VR. The maps are so creative and huge. The mod team is excellent. You can climb on any terrain.

It doesn’t get the same love as Pavlov VR or Contractors because it doesn’t have nice graphics. But what you can do in the game for me makes it much better.

There are bots and a community to play with on the weekends.

BattleFleet 2 $4.49

Like a table-top naval sim in VR

Tank Mechanic Simulator VR $6.99

If you are in love with tanks like me. It’s a personal fantasy of mine to wine and dine tanks and take care of them.  All in VR.

Leave No One Behind: Ia Drang VR $4.99

It’s a bit janky, but we don’t have any war games like this in VR. Graphics aren’t bad, but developers need to come back and give it some more love.

IronWolf VR $12.99

One of the best submarine games in VR. You get the whole Das Boot claustrophobia when your sub is going down.

Sniper Elite VR $4.49

Not the best Sniper Elite game, and it lacks checkpoints. But it can be immersive and fun.

Medal of Honor™: Above and Beyond $29.99

Most gamers are mad cause multiplayer doesn’t work. But I wanted a single-player experience, and that’s what I got, and it’s very good.

That’s It, Boys!

These are my recommendations. I know a lot of it seems like ancient history. Not the latest and greatest. But some games are not on sale, and some are not even listed on Steam anymore. Matrix, for some reason, doesn’t have the John Tiller Campaign Series on Steam.

But if you like my recommendations, be sure to look out for my full game reviews in the future and my articles.

Support Strategy and Wargaming

I do what I do in Strategy and Wargaming because I love to do this, and I’m never going to stop. If you would like to support me with that, you can buy me a coffee for a dollar if you’re feeling generous. If you can’t, no worries, Strategy and Wargaming will always be free, and I’d love to have you around!
