Chris’s Recommendations For The Steam Autumn Sale 2025

Simulations

Silent Hunter® III $2.49

Best subgame ever made with tons of mods.

Rise of Flight United $4.99 for DLC

Best WW1 flight simulator unless you want to pay for all of Il-2 Sturmovik WW1 DLCs.

Steel Armor Blaze of War $16.49

Best tank sim on Steam. Worth the money. Fun with a joytick.

War on the Sea $9.99

Get this or Cold Water. Best Naval sim on Steam

IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad $12.49

Can play in VR. Best WW2 flight sim on Steam.

Dangerous Waters $2.99

Great classic

Battlestations: Midway 0.97 cents

Just look at that price

Pacific Storm $1.99

Good Naval classic

Victory at Sea Pacific $11.99

Games can be janky, but there’s a lot of meat on them. Best of all, they are fun. Stay away from their Civil War game. It’s broken.

Command: Modern Operations $31.99

Most realistic war sim where you command mostly Naval and Air Force units.  Like you need to go to the actual Naval Academy to learn. The DLC is not for a cheap person like me, though, so be mindful of its DLC model. But since they are making content constantly that the fans want, it’s not a bad thing.

Fleet Command $1.99

Cheap Harpoon-type game with mods.

Harpoon Classic 97 $7.19

A great classic, I wish I had spent more time on it to fully recommend. I know people are mad this isn’t the Matrix version that was delisted, but I’m a cheap gamer, so I was never going to buy that one anyway.

Ultimate Admiral: Dreadnoughts $24.49

I know people are mad that the developers are no longer around, and since they are not having updates for the next 100 years, the game should be sent to the firing squad. But the game is functional and fun, and Deadnoughts.

Great Naval Battles: The Final Fury $4.99

Best Classic Naval game where you take the perspective from the Helm. Closest game to this is War on the Sea, but there is no Helm perspective on that game.
