Orc Incremental Looks Like a Fun Little Game

Here, at Strategy and Wargaming, we’re all about deep historical simulations, hardcore wargames, lightning-fast RTS, and ponderous turn-based strategy affairs, but from time to time I also enjoy shutting off my brain and playing simpler titles. What’s simpler than an autobattler? I just saw Orc Incremental, thought it looked cool, and wanted to put it here.
Timberborn 1.1 Out Now

Timberborn, one of the best city-builders/ colony-sims in gamign history got a massive 1.1 update. Here’s what you can expect the next time you boot up the game:
- New watertight buildings;
- New maps;
- Statistics for goods and population;
- Tier 4 monuments;
- New attraction;
- New desert plant called Succulent;
- More complex and three-dimensional water particles.
SPRAWL Zero

SPRAWL Zero comes out on September 8, and having played it extensively during the Steam Next Fest event, it has become my most anticipated FPS of the year. It has a very nifty idea behind it: Weapons only have one magazine; once those bullets are gone, it’s time to pick up a new one. To help you with that, you have a long-range pickup ability that creates some high-octane moments as you run around, blasting foes, picking up their guns, and blasting more enemies to pick up their guns, and so on and so on. It felt weird at first, but once you get into the groove of it, it’s an absolute blast.
SPRAWL also has that brown and orange look that was very typical of early 2000s shooters, and has a very PS2-looking aesthetic, enemy and weapon design, and environments.
Bodycam “Locked & Loaded” Update Out Now
Recent gameplay videos of Bodycam have been making the rounds online, with people somewhat shocked that the game does, in fact, look like a true-to-life bodycam, featuring some of the most realistic graphics I have ever seen in a video game. The most recent “Locky & Loaded” update just launched (September 2nd) and added 6 new weapons, reworked a major portion of the game’s animations, FPS drones and RC Cars, a melee combat system, and new flash, sticky, and impact grenades. The new Trench map is also a major highlight, strongly reminiscent of the body-cam footage from Ukraine.
Wargame Design Studio – Squad Battles: Red Victory

It’s a running joke here that every wargamer who has once run into a dark alleyway has been approached by men in waistcoats asking them: “Hey, pst! I know you like wargames! Do you want to invade the Eastern Front?”
This time, Wargame Design Studio is the one cornering you and asking if you want to fight some of the most brutal scuffles of the war. Starting in 1943 and going up until the end of the war, Squad Battles: Red Victory includes 97 scenarios and Orders of Battle for the German, Russian, Hungarian, Romanian, and Polish forces. The game is 20% off and will set you back $29.95.
