30 Wargame Suggestions To Buy During The Steam Summer Sale 2026 – From The Cheapest To The Most Expensive

Armored Brigade 2 ($29.99)

An overview of the entire battlefield in Armored Brigade II

I don’t think that saying that Armored Brigade 2 is similar to Combat Mission is too much of a stretch; in fact, they’re almost at the same level of depth, complexity, and even scale. Maybe Armored Brigade 2 focuses a bit more on armored operations and coordination between all branches of combat, while Combat Mission has a higher degree of detail in infantry combat. With that being said, Armored Brigade’s 2 move to 3D made the game a lot better, and despite a 30-dollar price point being a bit high, its mission generator turns it into a never-ending game, if you enjoy it.

Command: Modern Operations ($31.99)

The go-to simulator for real-world armies is Command: Modern Operations, the only game in this list that’s good enough to be used by proper militaries to train their troops and study how to deal with real-world military situations. This also means that C:MO also packs a very steep learning curve that might take weeks, if not months, to overcome, but if you keep at it, this is the best, most expansive, and realistic wargame you can play right now, and very possibly for the next half a decade.

Flashpoint Campaigns: Cold War ($39.23)

The most advanced wargame to tackle the Cold War is Flashpoint Campaigns, a game that sets itself apart by having asynchronous turns, where your command & controls of the battlefield determines how often you get to issue orders when compared to your enemy.

Sea Power: Naval Combat In The Missile Age ($39.99)

Published by MicroProse and developed by Triassic Games, and with the lead designer of Cold Waters at the helm, Sea Power is one of the most beautiful wargames ever built, and the best mix between arcade action and simulation you can find in any naval wargame in 2026. The game’s constantly being updated with new content during its Early Access stint, with new units, weapon systems, and maps being constantly released to the public. With a 90% Very Positive rating on Steam, it ranks as one of players’ favorite wargames.

Gary Grigsby’s War In The East 2 ($39.99)

Gary Grigsby’s War In The East 2 is the most massive World War 2 endeavour any player can take, and it goes to the most minute of details to perfectly recreate the Eastern Front of World War 2. I often joke around that, if you ever finish and win a campaign of War In The East 2, you should be awarded a PhD.
