With the 10th Warhammer Skulls Festival of Video Games dominating the scene this week, it’s no wonder most news will revolve around new announcements for the franchise’s digital games. Dawn of War 4 Release Date and Crusade Mode Announced

Real-time strategy fans can finally mark their calendars because Deep Silver and KING Art Games have officially announced that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV will launch on September 17, 2026. Revealed during the annual Warhammer Skulls showcase, the upcoming RTS sequel will plunge players back into the brutal war for Kronus, with a highly anticipated, fan-favorite Crusade Mode set to return as a free post-launch content deployment. There are already several post-launch plans, with free and paid DLC planned ahead, composed of campaign expansions, new factions, and battlepacks.

Microprose Announced Battlespace Command

Legendary publisher MicroProse has officially unveiled Battlespace Command, a massive, full-spectrum modern real-time strategy sandbox developed by Wirraway Software that could have made its way into my top 10 wargames to look forward to, had it been announced sooner. This new wargaming promises an uncompromising level of tactical realism; the game eliminates traditional off-map abstractions, forcing players to coordinate actual physical units across sprawling 6.25-million-square-kilometer battlefields generated from real geographic data. Strategy enthusiasts can expect to manage intricate physics-based sensor grids, electronic warfare, and rules of engagement for over 250 authentic modern units spanning land, air, and sea. This is a really ambitious project, and I’m going to keep a close eye on it to see how well it develops. I just hope that the game finally strikes true when it comes to infantry combat, which no other game manages to do properly.

This highly popular 4X strategy game strips away complex diplomacy in favor of pure, unadulterated planetary warfare, tasking players with constructing fortified cities, researching advanced technologies, and managing resource grids to completely annihilate rival factions.
