1 – Star Wars: Zero Company
If there’s a game coming in 2026 that I’m extremely excited for, more so than any other title, it’s by far Star Wars: Zero Company. For those who might not know me, two of my favorite things in the world are Star Wars and XCOM. So, naturally, if you put those two together, the result can only be an unfathomable amount of hype. Players will be placed at the head of an elite squadron of units, which they will lead in daring missions to try and save the Republic. The game has a lot of the XCOM and Marvel’s Midnight Suns talent backing it, and Greg Foertsch, founder of Bit Reactor, stated that Zero Company isn’t going to sacrifice depth of combat or elegance, but will merge both, while still having high-quality, cinematic graphics. I also love the idea of combining third-person exploration with Tactical combat, as it reminds me of one of my favorite games ever, Midnight Suns. This is going to be a day-one buy for me!
Conclusion
The year of 2026 is already one of the best in living memory in terms of quantity and quality, but the best is still to come, with Game of Thrones: War For Westeros and Dawn of War 4 leading the charge in the real-time strategy space; Star Wars: Zero Company and Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Ear look like they’ll dominate turn-based strategy, and Gilded Destiny is looking like the next huge grand-strategy to rule them all.
I hope you have enjoyed this list of the most exciting strategy games to come in 2026 and that your wishlist is now packed with new hopes and expectations. Do let me know in the comments down below which were your favorites, and if I have missed any titles. Let’s start a conversation!
