Battle Drill Looks… Interesting
I just came across this in-development World War 2 tactical wargame in the vein of Combat Mission and Graviteam Tactics, and I wanted to let you know. There isn’t a whole lot of information around, but after scouring its videos, I found out that Battle Drill will have orders travelling via runners and word of mouth; radios and field telephones will be modeled; soldiers will have their individual kits simulated, and the AI will react to what’s going on around it. I’ll keep an eye out for more updates on this one and bring them to you as soon as more information is available.
The game dev doesn’t make any effort to hide that the game is “built by one person, with AI tools doing the typing and drawing under my direction. The engine is made from scratch. I try to be as meticulous in my research as possible, often pulling from my own collection of historical books and other primary sources when available”. I can respect that.
