Transport Fever 3
The Transport Fever series of titles from Urban Games has always been exceptional. The 2016 entry turned the company into a household name in the strategy and tycoon genre, and Transport Fever 2 is the best transportation management game ever made. Naturally, expectations are high for Transport Fever 3, so the team went all out, modelling well over a century of transport evolution, from horse carriages to planes; nearly 300 vehicles including trams, buses, helicopters, ships, trucks, aircraft, and trains; over 35 industries including offshore sectors like fishing and oil platforms. The game is coming out on September 29, 2026. Pre-Orders are now available.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Tactics
Yes, you’re not hallucinating. We are getting a new Rainbow Six game that doesn’t look like generic slop. First Heroes 3, and now Rainbow Six Tactics? Two strategy games from Ubisoft? What’s going on? Well, this one is going to be a turn-based strategy game with tactical battles to rescue hostages, defuse bombs, or eliminate high-value targets. With the game featuring the Rainbow Six: Siege operators, we can also expect plenty of cool abilities to use. Me being a fan of Rainbow Six: Siege and knowing the amount of stuff available to experiment with makes me very hopeful and excited that this might actually turn out to be a very good strategy game. There’s also a grand-strategic layer to it, with threats showing up on the map, so I’m assuming this will not just be a story-driven game, but something a lot more similar to XCOM. From all that I have seen, this is the most exciting announcement from Gamescom so far! Neat!
Game of Thrones: War for Westeros
I have read and seen a couple of previews from people who played Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, and they all seem to be somewhat worried that the game is a bit too generic or has an outdated design. I personally look at the available gameplay footage, and all I’m able to see is Battle for Middle-earth wearing one of my favorite settings as a mask, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. If the game is a bit too traditional in its design, then great, I don’t need to have all my games be the most innovative thing around. Do I think this is going to revolutionize the RTS genre and become the next Age of Empires II? No, but it looks like a perfect 7 out of 10, and you know how much I love those! The game is set to release in 2027, but no precise date has yet been announced.
