7 – Star Wars: Empire At War – $6.99

While my favorite Star Wars game of all time is not a strategy game, but instead Jedi Survivor, I cannot ignore the fact that Star Wars: Empire at War is one of the best RTS games ever, especially if you love space combat and want a strategy game with a grand campaign.
6 – FTL: Faster Than Light – $2.49
The original indie darling of the early 2010s, FTL: Faster Than Light, is the best sci-fi/space game ever made in my very humble, but obviously correct opinion. Such a simple concept, but one that works wonders: Take command of a ship, try to outrun a massive fleet that’s on the prowl, hunting you, and navigate the stars, encountering hostile ships, doing side-quests, upgrading your vessel, and getting ready for the final showdown. The combat is real-time with pause, where the player can manipulate each individual system to gain an edge in combat.
5 – Endless Legend – $7.49

Ever wanted to play a 4X game with a narrative element, and where each individual faction feels truly unique? Endless Legend is the game for you. While Endless Legend 2 is out already, I still don’t think it can match the charm and amount of content the original one had, especially at this price point of just over 5 dollars. Get this one, and you’ll be glued to the screen for the next couple of months uncovering the secrets of Auriga.
