This week has been one of the most important weeks of all time for the strategy and wargaming genres. In fact, I cannot recall a week when we received so much major news in such a short amount of time. We now know a lot more about Total War: Warhammer 40,000, Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition Is Coming in 2026, a release window also exists for Star Wars: Zero Company, and even Stronghold 4 is an actual thing! Let’s dive straight into it!
Total War: Warhammer 40,000 New Details

During the PC Gaming Show, a host of new details for Total War: Warhammer 40,000 were unveiled by Creative Assembly, so instead of boring you with a long description, here are the bullet points and the highlights you need to know:
- A new engine is being used.
- 4 factions: The Space Marines, Aeldari, Orks, and Astra Militarum.
- There’s a random planet generator, so no campaign will ever be the same.
- Hero units are confirmed.
- Planetary Bombardments are confirmed.
- Authentic unit sizes (look at those massive tanks compared to regular soldiers!).
- There seems to be a dynamic cover system.
- And we have jetpacks confirmed!
Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition Coming This Year
A couple of days ago, I was writing my article on the best World War 2 games to play on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day and found myself wondering if we would ever see a Definitive Edition of Company of Heroes, and just a couple of days later, Relic Entertainment and Blackbird Interactive answered my prayers. Here’s the quick run-down, and all we know:
- It’s going to include all content from the base game, as well as the Opposing Front and Tales of Valor expansions.
- It features enhanced AI for a more dynamic and challenging single-player and co-op experience.
- Modernized UI;
- Modern controls (can we finally use WASD instead of the arrows?)
- Enhanced visuals while maintaining the original art direction and tone, with changes made to the environments, the textures, and lighting;
- 64-Bit Legacy Mod support to support the already existing and extensive modding scene.
Stronghold 4 Announced, Demo Available Soon

Fans of Stronghold have been eating well these last couple of years, with the incredible Stronghold and Stronghold Crusader Definitive Editions coming out and being absolutely amazing, and the best way to play these classics. Well, Firefly Studios is far from being done with the franchise, and has announced that in 2026 we’re also going to see Stronghold 4! The next couple of months are going to be extremely busy for reviews! While we’re a bit tight on details, I have some fantastic news, and that’s that there will be a demo available for all to try on June 23rd! So, what do we know?
- Stronghold is going back to its beloved medieval setting that made the game famous.
- It’s being built in Unreal Engine 5, and it’s been in development for 3 years.
- The game will be 3D, and the graphics look like a massive upgrade over Warlords.
- It will have a campaign with 22 missions.
- A new resource called “honor” is coming back from Stronghold 2, and it’s going to be used to upgrade buildings and units. There are 10 ranks, and each rank unlocks new buildings and troops.
- There are going to be in-game events like fires that ravage your castle, relics, and an ale-drinking competition.
