Wargame Design Studio is Finally Coming to Steam
In what might be the biggest news for “serious” wargamers in years, Wargame Design Studio has officially announced they are bringing their massive catalog to Steam. Known for their deep, hex-based simulations like Civil War Battles and Panzer Campaigns, and by having some of the best wargames of all time, WDS has traditionally operated through their own storefront. This move will significantly lower the barrier to entry for new players looking for high-fidelity historical wargaming. The transition will happen in waves, so keep an eye on your wishlists! If you buy the game from their store a Steam key will be flying your way as well, so you have nothing to lose with this change!
Heroes of Science and Fiction Out Now
Finally, Heroes of Science and Fiction has officially released. This title blends the classic “Heroes of Might and Magic” style of exploration and turn-based combat with a unique sci-fi twist. If you’ve ever wanted to lead a party of high-tech specialists across a hex-based alien world, this is definitely one to watch. With a 92% very positive review rating on Steam, the game is already one of the highest rated strategy games of the year.
Strategic Command WWI: Battles for Ypres DLC
Strategic Command: World War I continues to expand with the new Battles for Ypres DLC. This pack focuses on the brutal, static warfare of the Salient, offering 6 highly detailed scenarios that cover the various offensives throughout the war. It’s a must-have for fans of the series looking for a more granular look at the Western Front.
Sintopia Coming April 2026
Finally, keep an eye out for Sintopia, which is scheduled for an April release. This is a unique “God Game” where you manage the afterlife, balancing the souls of the departed in a stylized, satirical version of Hell. The game gives me Dungeons 3 vibes, one of my favorite games of this genre, and that to me is an absolute green flag, and cannot wait to play this one!
