Space Scum

Dropping you into the lawless, grease-stained underbelly of the galaxy, Space Scum is a gritty turn-based tactical strategy game inspired by Battle Brothers where you assemble and command a crew of spacefaring outlaws, mercs, and cutthroats. Abandoning noble galactic empires, your goal is pure survival and profit, fighting intense squad-level cover firefights (with plenty of melee to go along), attacking other bands of space scum, completing missions, and upgrading your squad. With permanent character deaths, deep unit customization, and an unforgiving combat system with enough brutality and gore to keep you wide-eyed in shock at your screen like I did when I was trying out its demo, Space Scum might become dangerously addictive to those who wished for more Battle Brothers but got MENACE instead.
Espiocracy

Putting you in control of an intelligence agency during the height of the Cold War, Espiocracy is a grand strategy game where your greatest weapons aren’t armies, but secrets, propaganda, and covert ops. Managing over 74 playable agencies from different countries, you must build sprawling spy networks, execute high-stakes black ops, orchestrate coups, and sway foreign elections to manipulate world history from the shadows. With dynamic actor simulations where individual spies, politicians, and informants act on realistic motives, every decision ripples across global politics. If this game delivers a sliver of its promise, I can assure you that players will be going absolutely wild praising how amazing this one is! Besides, we don’t get enough spy games these days, do we?
Gilded Destiny

Step into the transformative heat of the Industrial Revolution with Gilded Destiny, a grand strategy game that puts you at the helm of a nation during an era of unprecedented technological, economic, and societal upheaval. Set across a meticulously detailed 3D globe, you’ll manage real-time population demographics, construct vast railway networks, extract critical raw materials, and drive global trade markets. Beyond balancing industrial growth against rising worker movements, you must navigate delicate diplomatic alliances and command armies when words fail. The game was picked up by Hooded Horse, so that alone gives me hope that there’s an incredible title in here. I am very curious to see how well Gilded Destiny will stack up against Victoria 3.
Ashes of the Singularity II
Pushing real-time strategy to the absolute limit, Ashes of the Singularity II expands sci-fi warfare onto a truly staggering, planetary scale. Powered by a brand-new 64-bit engine designed to render tens of thousands of individual units simultaneously, this massive sequel drops you into apocalyptic clashes between post-humanity and hyper-advanced AI conquerors. Instead of micro-managing single units, orchestrate multi-front global offensives with thousands upon thousands of units. With its jaw-dropping visual fidelity, hyper-complex resource logistics, and relentless high-tech combat, Ashes of the Singularity II is a massive, life-ruining time-sink guaranteed to test the limits of both your PC and your sleep schedule, and the solid, guaranteed success of Sanctuary. Isn’t life funny? We spent years wishing for a successor to Total Annihilation, and now we have two major ones coming out in 2026 and 2027.
Total War: Warhammer 40.000

Finally! The ultimate strategy crossover is officially happening as Creative Assembly brings its award-winning formula to the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. Set during the Era Indomitus, Total War: Warhammer 40,000 expands the franchise into an ambitious galactic sandbox where you manage interstellar fleets, conquer planetary strongholds, and execute catastrophic orbital bombardments. Taking command of iconic factions like the Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Orks, or Aeldari, you’ll navigate deep planetary campaigns and lead massive real-time tactical battles across dynamically destructible biomes. Featuring deep tabletop-style army customization, brutal squad-level gunplay, and colossal war engines like Orkish Stompas, it offers a life-ruining scale of sci-fi conquest that fans have been dreaming of for decades. The gameplay videos we have been seeing of it make me even more excited for it, because it’s looking like it might possibly be the best Total War since Shogun 2!
Conclusion
Whether you are eager to conquer the Seven Kingdoms, rule feudal Europe, command galactic armies in the grimdark future, or simply build a cozy LEGO metropolis, the future of strategy gaming has never looked brighter or more diverse. Developers across both major studios and passionate indie teams are delivering the exact depth, tactical friction, and visual spectacle that fans have been begging for. Keep these titles firmly on your wishlist, prepare your PC, and get ready to surrender endless nights to some of the finest tactical masterclasses ever crafted.
