7 – Two Point Museum
The Summer is also the season to culturally enrich yourself by visiting monuments, looking at art pretending you understand whatever the hell is going on with that weird-looking painting, and of course, going to all the available museums you can find in the city you’re currently visiting. What if you could be the one running the museum? That’s the premise for Two Point Museum, a tycoon game from the folk of Two Point Studios, famous for Two Point Hospital and Two Point Campus. Create alt-historical exhibitions, go entertain your guests, and make the best museum you possibly can.
6 – Chroma Squad
Summer is also synonymous with waking up early when I was a kid and going over to the family’s TV to watch Power Rangers before everybody else woke up. Since we’re lacking any proper Power Ranger strategy games as far as I know, the closest thing we have is Chroma Squad. A charming turn-based strategy where players are controlling a team of actors putting together a tokusatsu show. It’s a challenging but fun romp as the productions get more and more elaborate and professional. While the game plays as if you’re fighting real enemies and facing real tactical challenges, what’s actually going on is you recording a show and fighting hired actors. As players progress across the campaign, new equipment is unlocked, and guns go from homemade swords to CG ones. Costumes also go from cardboard helmets and boots to Hollywood-level props. It’s a great game, and we should have gotten Chroma Squad 2 by now.
5 – Dorfromantik
Dorfromantik is such a Simple game that there’s not a whole lot to be said about it. It’s a strategic puzzle game about placing hex-based tiles near other similar tiles. Each tile properly placed earns a bigger number of points. Reach the end of your stack and move on to the Next map. Very Simple, and highly satisfying and relaxing.
4 – Mini Motorways
Driving in traffic is one of the worst things in life, and managing it, I can imagine, has to suck even harder. Fortunately, Mini Motorways makes connecting cities a lot more fun than it is in real life. The premise is simple: Players have to connect houses of a given color to stores of the same color, avoid traffic jams, and optimize all possible routes. Eventually, all games come to an end, as more and more houses spawn, and things get progressively crazier. Fortunately, this is all done against the Backdrop of a simplistic but mellow art style and relaxing background music. It’s a cozy management game that will have players entering a flow State of Pure relaxation and enjoyment in no time.
3 – Game Dev Tycoon
Most tycoon games feel too close to work to be a proper recommendation in this kind of article. Well, since most of us aren’t game devs, Game Dev Tycoon is a tranquil title that goes over most of PC and console gaming history, as you try to navigate the emerging trends, genres, hardware, and software. Making games is as easy as playing around with sliders and seeing what results from tinkering around with different factors like genres, sub-genres, game engines, technology, hardware, and developing techniques. The satisfying feeling of seeing a game of yours that’s a text-based action game be received with 10/10 reviews across the board never gets old, especially because that means you’ll now be able to create that sexy vampire RTS you’ve always wanted to play.

I am a massive fan of waterparks! And as someone who just rode one of the largest water slides in the world just last month, Planet Coaster 2 was the game I was most excited to boot up once I arrived home, and to recreate that same experience for my digital guests. This is the ultimate title for players looking to create their very own waterpark, allowing for a near-limitless creativity due to the modularity of its design. Chances are, if you have a favorite waterpark that you want to digitally recreate, you’ll most likely be able to do so in Planet Coaster 2.
