ZeroSpace July Release Date Announced

A huge battle in ZeroSpace with several robots firing at each other in the desert

ZeroSpace was one of the games that impressed me the most during the last Steam Next Fest, making it to number 3! The sci-fi RTS/RPG hybrid features an intriguing premise, has tight unit controls similar to those of Starcraft and Age of Empires, and the best unit positioning feature I have ever seen in an RTS, and one that I already miss in all other titles. All of that to say that you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on it, because it’s coming out on Steam’s Early Access program on July 20th, 2026.

Here’s an interesting status distribution on how players engaged with the game during the time it was available: 75% played the campaign, 10% played the co-op mode, and only 1% played 1v1 ranking. Maybe all other competitive RTS developers should start taking notes on how the campaign is not only a cool side-project, but the feature that will sell your game.

Total War: Warhammer III Will Let You End The World

It seems like Total War: Warhammer III development is still going strong, even with the fast-approaching release of 40K on the horizon. The team is now working on unique mechanics for the endgame, giving the player the role of Archaon the Everchosen, the Champion of Chaos, to bring about the End Times.

Creative Assembly Wants You To Pick What Factions Will Be Available On Medieval 3

The map of Total War: Medieval 3

I have never been a massive fan of this idea of having players on board while developing a video game. In my opinion, it compromises the project’s vision to appease a random number of people who, most of the time, are not representative of the silent majority that will actually make you money in the first place. It’s a stupid model, and Company of Heroes 3 did that, and we already know how much of a mess that turned out to be. Well, now Creative Assembly is giving that a go by letting players choose which factions they want to see added to Medieval 3, and you can do so by casting your vote here. I’m also very intrigued by the fact that they’re limiting the available factions to those already existing in 1140. I’m also very intrigued to know how Portugal made the cut, because it didn’t exist until 1143. Hopefully, this is not an indicator of the lack of historical attention on the final product, and just a slip. Also, why is the map so small?

American Revolutionary War Goes To Steam

Well, Ultimate General: American Revolution proved to us that having mobile gaming companies publish games is a terrible idea, something we all knew all along. Fortunately, Wargame Design Studio is nothing like that, and what Chris Irwin, our resident WDS reviewer, considers to be one of the best wargames ever made, American Revolutionary War, has made its way to Steam. This ultimate historical recreation of the fateful conflict that gave Americans their independence features 148 scenarios, 4 massive campaigns, and highly detailed, hex-based maps.

Veterans: Napoleonic Wars Back On Steam

A night battle in Veterans: Napoleonic Wars

After being taken down right at the start of the last Steam Next Fest, Veterans: Napoleonic Wars is now back on Steam. There’s not a whole lot of details about the situation, so I’ll keep you up to date if something comes up. Just don’t expect to play the demo, because it’s currently unavailable.
