1 – Against The Storm
Just in case you’re one of the few people out there that hasn’t heard about Against The Storm (you know, because it’s one of the most widely praised city-builders in recent memory), this absolute gem is going out on sale for a steal, and delivers on being one of the most unique city-builders out there, and it does so by being a roguelike! A City-builder roguelike, you ask? That’s right! You start a town, achieve the objective (or fail), and then you start a new one (win or lose), and again, and again, and again, all in an effort to constantly feed new materials into the Smoldering, where your regent, the Scorched Queen, lives. In essence, this means that you’ll be constantly going back to that addictive loop of starting a new city from scratch, setting up all the necessary logistics to have it running properly, and the game very rarely falls into a stale state.
As expected, the city-management and supply-chain setup aspect of it is equally in-depth, with different classes of workers being better at certain tasks, a constant need to balance danger and expansion, and a constant search to deliver what is asked of you while keeping your denizens happy and productive.
Against the Storm is one of Steam’s gems, with an overwhelmingly positive review rating of 95%!
