Hello, and welcome, welcome to this week’s news round-up of strategy and wargaming news! And what a week it has been, and what a week we do have ahead of us: Task Force Admiral finally came out, MENACE is releasing on February 5th, Dawn of War 4 gives us a glimpse into the Ork faction, and we get a closer look at how Slitherine’s adaptation of Bolt Action will look! Let’s dive straight into it, shall we?
MENACE Comes Out This Week
After a long period of teasing and waiting, MENACE will finally arrive on the 5th of February. The game is being developed by Overhype Studios, the game guys that gave us the amazing Battle Brothers, and is being published by strategy game darling Hooded Horse. This turn-based tactical RPG set in space plays incredibly well, and is one of the games I’m most excited for to play in 2026. Stay tuned for my review, coming out in just a couple of days.
Task Force Admiral Finally Came Out
After nearly a decade in the hoven, Task Force Admiral came out and instantly captured the hearts and minds of wargamers everywhere, especially those who have been eagerly and anxiously waiting for a new naval experience set in the Pacific. Task Force Admiral sports an impressive Very Positive Steam rating, and I’m in the process of finishing my review. The only thing left for me to make a decision is to play the Midway scenario a couple more times, but so far, I’m willing to let you know that I’m inclined to give it a 9 out of 10. The only department the game’s lacking at the moment is content, but at least we have a battle generator to keep us entertained after we’re done with the missions.
Bolt Action Dev Diary Shows Us What The Future Looks Like

I have, somehow, missed putting Bolt Action, the up-and-coming turn-based World War 2 strategy game from Slitherine Games, on the best wargames coming in 2026. Grave mistake! A lot of speculation abounds on how Slitherine treats this digital recreation of the classic tabletop wargame, but a recent dev diary made everything clear: They’re keeping the basics intact, but innovating and improving! Check out my deep dive on what mechanics will be kept the same!
Dawn of War 4 Orks Faction Trailer Looks Explosive
Warhammer 40,000: Dwan of War 4 is by far the most anticipated real-time strategy game of 2026, and from the looks we’ve been having from its trailer, it seems to justify all the hype around it. This time, the spotlight is on the Orks, and the new faction trailer explains what makes Orks truly dangerous: It essentially boils down to: big Ork with big weapon does big ouchy ouchy, and a lot of screaming.
