Strategy and Wargaming News – 26 October 2025 – The Future of Total War, Master of Command Releasing Soon, GHPC RTS Mode, And So Much More!

Gunner, HEAT, PC! Has An RTS Mode

So, the best tank sim on the market in 2025 (Gunner, HEAT, PC!) just got a massive and game-changing update that completely went under my radar (I was on honeymoon, so I have a decent excuse for that!). This huge update traces its origin back to April Fools’ Day 2025, where it was first showcased as a joke that many suspected was secretly serious, and players have been asking for it ever since. Well, now you can take control of the battlefield (this mode is completely optional), and commanders will be able to plan their troops’ advances and dictate what kind of maneuvers their troops will execute, changing these tactics as they go. This is truly great stuff, and the community reaction has been extremely positive.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command Keeps Getting Better and Better

Starship Troopers: Terran Command, the best RTS to have come out in a decade, is continuously being improved with constant new updates. This time, the team at The Artistocrats is adding a new Territory Mode, introducing a whole new way to play the game. The video above explains everything in detail, but the new Territory Mode features 27 unique maps and three Battlegroups to play with.

The Troop Gets A Cheap New DLC

It’s no secret that I love The Troop, one of the most accessible and underrated wargames on the market. It just received a new, very small DLC called ‘Late War.’ This adds four new late-war scenarios from 1944 and 1945, as well as 25 new late-war units for the US, Commonwealth, and German Forces.

  1. I really hope they announce a historical and new fantasy title for Total War. I love the series and they have had some rough times the past few years. Between Three Kingdoms and Pharaoh I think they need a historical home run.

    1. That would be the best scenario possible!

    2. Three Kingdoms is amazing and only downfall is the lack of support from CA.

      1. A shame indeed!

  2. Knowing total way for as long as I have and falling in love with their Empire total war game was great. I’ve played Rome 2, atila, thrones of Britannia, shogun2, napoleon, troy, and even three kingdoms. I did get Warhammer 2 but god it was awful. They should do medieval 3 and a Empire 2. Id say its only fair since they pushed three Warhammer games in quick succession. I also find it hilarious on how people arr saying the star wars game they are making will be a open world game, as if they have never played a total war game. I have hight hopes, but if EA got their head out of their ass a few good years ago we could have had a star wars Empire at war 2, probably not as good as the first and its corruption dlc.

I wish i could get into some gaming company and actually make good games that we the gamers want.

    1. To be honest, all we need to make a greate Star Wars: Empire at War 2 is the game’s base building and space combat paired up with the ground combat of Company of Heroes. I would be a happy man.

  4. That’s exactly what I would want to avoid, personally. It’s called Star Wars, not Star Constructions.

  6. Really good news especially about gates of hell and total war
I am especially excited for a total war star wars or maybe total war Victorian era if historical

  7. ive really lost faith in CA and I quite literally make side money on the franchise via YouTube content. TK was potential an amazing game but was hampered by low support from CA on DLC. Warhammer 3 DLC has been terrible after terrible.
