1 – Battles of Normandy
In the number one spot on this list, we have my favourite Wargame Design Studio ever: Battles of Normandy. Who knew, Am I right? Say, do you love the idea of replaying every aspect of D-Day? If that’s a yes, we are starting out great. Do you love Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan? Fantastic! Do you devour every World War 2 history book and historical magazine about the topic? Well, then you should really consider taking that obsession in the virtual wargaming space with Battles of Normandy. This expansive WW2 wargame delivers an incredibly detailed recreation of the entire Normandy campaign from D-Day landings in June 1944 through the push to the Falaise Pocket in August. With over 92 scenarios, an Order of Battle of 21.000 units (step aside, Wargame: Red Dragon), Battles of Normandy is a monumental achievement in wargaming history, rivalling the likes of Gary Grigsby’s titles in terms of complexity and detail. My personal recommendation is that if you can only get one game, you should get this one.
