1 – SPRAWL Zero

The biggest surprise of the Steam Next Fest was SPRAWL Zero, which is the second game in the SPRAWL series, a high-rated FPS on Steam I have crossed paths with several times before, but never got around to playing. Well, after my experience with SPRAWL Zero, I’ll definitely be picking up the first one on the upcoming Steam Summer Sale. This is a fast-paced shooter where every gun only has one magazine, and your absolute unit of a soldier carries an electric whip that can pick up weapons from the ground and interact with the environment. So you’ll be zooming around the battlefield, killing enemies, picking their weapons, emptying all their mags, to kill more enemies, to take their weapons, and so on. The shooting is amazing, the 2004 art style is fantastic, and the whip mechanic that lets you pick up objects and chuck them back is very fun, too. So far, the weapon variety is there, even if the enemies start to feel a bit repetitive in the demo. That’s my only complaint, so far. Great game, if you enjoy shooters, give this one a go.
Conclusion
I hope you have been enjoying the Steam Next Fest as much as I have, and that your wishlist is now as packed as mine is. There are some truly amazing games in there, and not enough time to play them all. Make the most of this week, and if you have enough time, let me leave you with a word of advice: demos don’t cost a thing, so try whatever you feel like it might be interesting, even if the genre isn’t exactly your all-time favorite. You never know if your next Game of the Year is just right after you click that download demo button.
