1 – Prelude Dark Pain
The most stylish game on this list, Prelude: Dark Pain is a tactical RPG that puts players in the role of Soren, a blacksmith leading a Resistance uprising against the Order of the Ashen Crusade. Looking to garner new wishlists as the game approaches its release date of Q3 2026, the generous demo is composed of the opening chapter of the story, featuring four playable heroes, and a stand-alone battle with 5 heroes, including a new playable character that wasn’t available in the previous playtesting. If the demo I have played is anything like the final game might end up being, this is going to be one of 2026’s standout titles. This demo exudes quality in every aspect: The art style is sharp and distinct, the writing is on point, the setting is mysterious and had me intrigued from the first couple of minutes forward, and the combat is looking promising too. Cannot wait to get my hands on the final product! By far, the most pleasant surprise on this list.
