10 – Two Point Hospital
Don’t be fooled by the appearance of the Two Point games. Underneath its silly tone and Wallace and Gromit character design hides some of the most complex, engrossing, and complete tycoon games of all time. Fans of Theme Hospital should be right at home with Two Point Hospital.
9 – Total War: Rome 2 – Emperor Edition
I don’t think I need to say a whole lot about this one, but Total War: Rome 2 – Emperor Edition is one of the best Total Wars to date, despite its awfully rough launch in 2013. More than a decade of support and DLC turned it into a fully realized Total War experience that’ll let you live the highs and lows of the Roman Empire with amazing graphics, epic battles, and a grand-strategy campaign that’s sure to keep you busy for weeks. It also has the Divide et Impera mod, a major selling point.
8 – Dungeons 3
What if, instead of being the Hero of a story, you could be the villain? The evil Overlord plotting to ruin peace and destroy kingdoms? That’s the premise for Dungeons 3, a game where your base isn’t a fancy town, but a depressing (but colorful) dungeon filled with evil (but cute) minions, and horrible (and funny) creatures ready to destroy any would-be prince, champion, or man-of-the-hour. In all seriousness, it’s a fun RTS that has the best narrator of any game, ever, and one of the best swingle-player campaigns in existence. It’s also the funniest RTS game ever made, a worthy successor to Dungeon Master.
7 – Fights In Tight Spaces
Turn-based combat where you’re essentially John Wick fighting a lot of bad guys. Read my review on Fights In Tight Spaces for more details!
6 – Warhammer 40,000 – Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters
Do you need a game set in space and in the Warhammer universe? Well, check this one out: XCOM: Enemy Unknown meets 40,000 and spawns Warhammer 40,000 – Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters. It’s as great as it sounds. If you love those two, you’ll love those two put together. Add to that that you can lead the secretive and seldomly explored Grey Knights, and you’re sure to be entertained.
