Tempest Rising New Faction

Last week, we talked about the new and awesome Superweapons coming to the best RTS of 2025, Tempest Rising. Well, it seems like those weren’t the only bombastic news, as a new faction enters the conflict, called the Veti. They are of alien nature and have a very distinct playstyle: they can subjugate enemy infantry and transform them into Enlightened after their deaths. The Veit have their own unique system for upgrading structures, and they don’t consume Tempest; instead, their Refinement Altars cultivate the fields of Tempest, still harvesting credits.
The Veti also have their own Superweapon called the Sanctifier Portal that unleashes a massive avatar of pure energy and consumes all matter, be it friend or foe. Pretty cool, if you ask me. I love it when games go full-on silly with their weapon design.
Nova Roma Has A Free Demo

It seems like Anno 117: Pax Romana isn’t going to be the only Roman city-builder you’ll be able to play in 2025, as Hooded Horse and Lion Shield just released a free demo for their up-and-coming title Nova Roma.
IL-2 Series: Korea Pre-Orders Open
Historical flight-sim IL-2 Sturmovik is going to Korea, and a new trailer just dropped, announcing that interested aviators can pre-purchase the game.
At the moment, there are two editions available. The base version costs 79.99$ and has 2 collector planes (F-84E Thunderjet and La-11), as well as 6 early Cold War aircraft (F-86A Sabre, MiG-15bis, F-51D Mustang, Yak-9P, F-80C-10 Shooting Star, and IL-10), unique liveries, the map, and the game modes. The Founder’s Edition costs a heftier 139.99$ and has all the same stuff the base version does, all the while including all of 2026’s DLC, to be composed of 5, yet undisclosed aircraft.
Broken Arrow To Receive Helpful Allies

Despite being one of the best strategy games of 2025, it’s undeniable that Broken Arrow had quite a rough launch with plenty of necessary features missing, including a lack of mid-mission saves, a proper anti-cheat, and skirmish bots. Fortunately, the Broken Arrow team is still working hard to fix these troubles, and now it has been confirmed that with Update 1.0.12 – Allied Command, players will now be able to take allied bots into Skirmish mode.
Stay Tuned For What’s Coming Next
With Slitherine Next and the new Total War game being announced, 2025 isn’t quite over yet, and plenty of exciting news will arrive during the next week.
