We have visited the Long Bridge of Volantis in Córdoba, where we witnessed a Dark Souls-esque-inspired landscape in the world, and we’re now approaching the end of this somewhat nerdy travel diary. We’re going to do so in style, by visiting the Plaza de España, a tourist hotspot in Seville.
Built to host the Ibero-American Exposition World’s Fair of 1929, and designed by the architect Aníbal González, it’s a mix of styles ranging from Spanish Regionalism, Baroque, Mudéjar to Renaissance. It was designed to evoke the varied History of Spain and the multitude of influences that are still felt to this very day. Two towers flank a massive plaza, with many alcoves built around it.
If images of the Plaza remind you of something, but you cannot quite remember where you saw it, that’s because it was used as a filming location for Lawrence of Arabia, and, more recently, on Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones, where it served as the Theed Royal Palace.

The History of the region is rich and unique, the views and landscapes are beautiful, and the food is just fantastic. Pro tip: Eat some Paella in Seville.
