It’s really, really good, and despite it coming out in 2022, it has one of the best campaigns to have ever come out of real-time strategy (RTS) games. It’s so faithful to the movie’s aesthetic that it feels like you’re actually in the movie, it’s that good. The gameplay focuses heavily on tactical combat, emphasizing True Line of Sight and True Line of Fire, making unit positioning on high ground or in choke points critical for success. Players command a diverse arsenal of specialized units, like Rocket Troopers for armored targets and Combat Engineers for defense construction, using their unique abilities to counter the sheer numerical superiority of the Bugs. The campaign takes you through a story on the planet Kwalasha, requiring you to capture and defend vital radio stations and destroy underground hives. The game has constantly been updated ever since it came out, with fresh new DLC coming every once in a while.
