Plants vs Zombies Gets a Remaster
The original Plants vs. Zombies is getting a remaster called Replanted. It will include the original campaign along with new game modes, bonus levels, new content, co-op, and PvP support.
Stormgate Leaves Early Access To Mixed Reviews
The RTS game Stormgate is transitioning out of early access, and Frost Giant Studios just launched their Ashes of Earth Campaign for 25 bucks. The community (or what’s left of it) isn’t taking this lightly, with players clamouring that the asking price is way too expensive, and that the overall game is a massive let-down, especially when you take into account that the team behind Stormgate worked on games like Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3. Some Kickstarter backers are not happy at all about not getting the campaign for free, but I don’t know what was promised, so I won’t even try to get into it. I just hope Stormgate gets better and that we can finally have a worthy successor to Starcraft 2.
Fata Deum – The God Sim Has An Ambitious Release Date
It looks like we are going to be playing Fata Deum – The God Sim much earlier than originally anticipated, as the up-and-coming God-like game from 42 Bits Entertainment is set to have Early Access on September 15th, which is approximately just 5 weeks from now. Clearly inspired by games like Black & White and Populus, players will have the choice to be either Good or Bad, to nurture and care for their small humans, or to frighten and threaten them. As their God, it’s up to you how you want your creation to be treated. The game looks fun, and if I manage to get a review code for it, there’s a high chance of a review.
Wargame Design Studio – Game of the Week Goes To The Eastern Front
This week, the folks at the Wargame Design Studio have the amazing Panzer Campaigns: Orel ’43 on sale, costing only $29.95. Focused on the titular battle, players will take the mantle of the Commander of the three Russian Fronts (Western, Bryansk, and Central) and drive back the Germans from Orel and Bryansk. The game includes 83 scenarios, playable from both sides, a master map of 76.360 hexes, and a detailed Order of Battle for the Axis and Allied Forces alike.
