Introduction
The month of February continues to bring strategy gaming enthusiasts plenty of great news and some excellent games. Mewgenics, a new turn-based strategy game, is out, and players are loving it. Burden of Command: Three Nations DLC gets a release date, and a new Steam Fest is coming at the end of February.
Let’s dive straight into this week’s strategy and wargaming news!
Mewgenics Out Now
Mewgenics is a new turn-based strategy game from the creators of The Binding of Isaac and The End is Nigh. The game’s premise is… quite peculiar, to say the very least. Players can create an army of genetically modified cats and send them into turn-based combat missions. The game’s campaign has about 200 hours of content, 10 cat classes, and over 1000 unique skills to discover, and 900 items to equip. If you’re a cat person, like me, the artstyle might put you off, but with 13000 reviews and a 93% Very Positive Steam rating, Mewgenics is quite probably the best-selling strategy game of 2026 so far.
Burden of Command Three Nations DLC Release Date
Burden of Command quickly established itself as one of the best World War 2 wargames ever made, and one of my all-time favorites. Fortunately, for me (and most of you), Burden of Command is getting expanded with 4 new missions, new unit types to command, and for the first time, players will be able to play the British, the Germans, the French, as well as the Americans. Stay tuned and expect a review of the Three Nations DLC very soon.
Steam Next Fest Starts Soon

One of the best things Steam has ever done (aside from everything else, from sales to being the best gaming platform on the planet) was the creation of Steam Fests, which incentivized game developers to revive and revitalize demos. With each Steam Next Fest, hundreds of new games are released, and from that primordial chaos, a couple of gems emerge as the games one should be keeping an eye on for the next couple of months and years. With that being said, it is known that the Steam Next Fest is scheduled to run from February 23 to March 2, 2026. In anticipation of that, several games already have their demos out, like ShipShaper, Space Tales, and Atre: Dominance Wars.
Crusaders Book 2 Is Out Now

When Wargame Design Studio released Crusades: Book 1, it quickly established itself as a great alternative to Field of Glory 2 due to its focus on siege battles, and players flocked to it. Now, players can continue to experience the Crusades with Book 2, and the game picks up after the Second Crusade has failed, and will cover the 3rd and 4th Crusades across 102 scenarios and 4 campaigns.
Steam PVP Fest 2026 Is Underway And Has Some Great Deals

If you’re looking for some strategy games to play in multiplayer, you can still take advantage of the Steam PVP Fest, currently underway until the 16th of February.
