4 – Offworld Trading Company

Most strategy games have economics in order to support warfare, but in Offworld Trading Company, economics is warfare. You battle other players for economic dominance and control by running them out of business. Great to play in multiplayer.

3 – Scourge of War – Remastered

If you’re the kind of player who has always dreamt of becoming Napoleon, then Scourge of War – Remastered is the best version of the Waterloo battle ever recreated in videogame format. It’s as detailed as it is dense, as impressive to look at as it is try and figure out how everything works. Approach only if you’re the kind of player who really wants to sink their teeth into what’s one of the best wargames of all time.

2 – Sins of a Solar Empire 2

The best space strategy game that’s not exclusively multiplayer, Sins of a Solar Empire 2 managed to surpass its predecessor in literally every aspect. Still in active development, it was one of my favorite games of 2024.
