Introduction
Last week, I lamented the lack of news at the end of the year, and it seems someone heard me, because this week’s strategy and wargaming news update is one of the largest of 2025. Burden of Command showcases a new DLC, Slitherine Next is coming on December 9th, we have a look at the roadmaps for Broken Arrow and Sea Power, and so much more. Grab a cup of your favorite Sunday beverage and update yourself on what’s going on in Strategy and Wargaming.
Grand Tactician: Napoleonic Wars Announced
The Grand Tactician team has just released a trailer announcing their upcoming project titled Grand Tactician: Napoleonic Wars. Not a lot of details exist at the moment, but the trailer is an absolute banger!
Burden of Command Announces New DLC

It’s no secret that Burden of Command instantly became one of my favorite games of all time, so I’m obviously excited by the prospect that it’s getting a new expansion.
Called Three Nations, this DLC will bring 4 standalone scenarios centered around D-Day where players will command American, British and German forces. These four scenarios are the seizing of the Pegasus Bridge by the British, the fight for Benouville, the German mechanized assault aimed at retaking the Bridge played by the German perspective. Last, but not least, played from the American paratroopers perspective we have Meyers Hill, a scenario that uses never-before-seen interactive live action video from the executive producer of Brothers in Arms, Colonel John Antal.
With these new scenarios come new unit types, such as the UK and US paratrooper units, as well as a whole new experience playing as the Germans. I’m excited for this!
Stay Tuned For Slitherine Next On December 9th

Slitherine’s biggest showcase of the year, Slitherine Next, is coming back on December 9th, and you can watch it live at 18:00 CET on their official channels on YouTube and Twitch. Not a whole lot has been revealed, but the strategy-focused gaming company has announced that it’ll be changing formats and delivering a closer look at its ongoing projects. Including a look at Panzer Corps 2, Starship Troopers: Terran Command, and Broken Arrow. Also, RuneQuest: Warlords and two DLCS (Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector – Black Legion and Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Rampage Pack) will be released that day.
Sea Power Showcases Roadmap Going Into 2026

It’s hard to believe that a year has gone by since the release of Sea Power: Naval Combat In The Missile Age, and that plenty of their roadmap has already been released. Fortunately, the team is still hard at work, and they have recently unveiled what they’ll be working on going into 2026. This roadmap includes things like Phase 1 of the dynamic campaign and the Royal Navy.
As the cherry on top, the Sea Power team has just released another major update following that announcement, which brings a major overhaul of Flight Deck Mechanics, new units, more scenarios, improvements to the AI, and the mission editor. Sea Power landed with one amazing first impression. It’s a game I cannot wait to jump back into as soon as I get the chance.

Broken Arrow Future

Despite its rough launch, with some very important features missing, like mid-mission game saves and a proper anti-cheat, the Broken Arrow team is still toiling away and improving the game. This week, they have unveiled their roadmap going forward into 2026 and 2027, and things are pretty exciting. For 2026, players can expect save games, game replays, new multiplayer map variants, spectator mode, and a co-op campaign alongside 3 DLCs with new specializations for both the USA and Russian armies. For early 2027, Broken Arrow fans can expect a new faction with its own campaign, biome, and war theater, as well as their 4th specialization DLC, bringing another specialization for Russia.
