Ultimate General: American Revolution British Campaign

I really need to pick up my slack with Ultimate General: American Revolution. The game came out in late 2023, and I still haven’t logged more than a couple of hours in it. This is probably the best time to review it, as the first years of the British Campaign are already out for those wishing to try their luck as the redcoats.

To make sure that the British experience is as unique as the American, a lot of new mechanics have been added to the game. Native settlements, transportation and melee charges were reworked. The AI has some tweaks to its aggressiveness. The supply, navy, and global maps were improved. The cavalry animations and AI behaviour were updated. Even the particle effects for the game have gotten a facelift. To play the campaign, please do this: enter the code “unstablebranch” in Steam->Property->Betas.

I’m so glad to see that Ultimate General: American Revolution is delivering on its promises.

Arms Trade Tycoon: Tanks Interwar Period Update

Excellent tycoon title, Arms Trade Tycoon: Tanks just got a massive new update. While the previous version of the title was limited to the Great War period, you’ll now be able to continue with the manufacture of war machines well into the interwar period. There are 10 new vehicles from Britain, France and Germany, 120 new research nodes, and the possibility of mixing components from the Great War and Interwar periods.

With this new update, you’ll be able to skip the World War 1 period if you want and jump straight into arms production after 1918.

I bought Arms Trade Tycoon: Tanks for its idea, and to support its Early Access, but I’ll probably just really jump into it after the World War 2 update comes out.

Tempest Rising – PVP Teaser

One of the most anticipated real-time strategy games of recent memory- Tempest Rising – recently got a PVP teaser that awakened the Red Alert 2 player that delved deep inside of yours truly.

Against the Storm – Keepers of the Stone DLC

The best rogue-lite title of 2023 is getting a new DLC later this month. These Keepers of the Stone are, in fact, stone-mason frogs that much prefer to work during rainy days, as opposed to your other critters. The DLC will add a new Coastal Grove biome, and alongside it, the Strider Port building. You’ll be able to accrue new rewards from the Smoldering City, and Porsue 12 new orders that reflect the Frog’s capabilities.

The DLC is coming out on September 26th.

Rogue Waters

Rogue Waters is a tactical turn-based rogue-lite, with pirates (what a mouthful, eh?). I couldn’t tell you anything else because the trailer is very confusing and the Steam page doesn’t really help a whole lot. But it looks cool, and you control a Kraken, so that’s newsworthy in my book.

So, that’s all I got for you this week. I’m going back to finish my Sins of a Solar Empire 2 review and I’ll come back with it in a couple of days.
