This week, the biggest highlight has got to be the Steam Spring Sale of 2026 that just started a couple of days ago, and Gabe is going around emptying wallets and filling up gaming libraries. The Steam Spring Sale 2026 is officially in full swing, and while the “Deep Discounts” section is flooded with action hits, strategy and simulation fans have some of the best value-per-hour deals of the event. I have already put together two lists, one with the best deals below 10 dollars, and an overall list of the best strategy games on sale. The best part of this Steam Spring Sale is that there are plenty of all-time classics going into the bargain bin, and it’s a perfect time to scoop them all up!

Headquarters: Cold War – Now Available

Slitherine and Starni Games have released Headquarters: Cold War, a fast-paced turn-based strategy game that imagines a “World War III” scenario in 1984. The game features two primary campaigns: one for NATO and one for the USSR, totaling 20 missions.

The title stands out for its tactical depth, emphasizing directional armor (positioning matters for front, side, and rear hits) and destructible environments. It introduces Cold War-era staples like attack helicopters and advanced recon units across 58 detailed unit models.

Cities: Skylines – Race Day Expansion

Paradox Interactive has officially launched the Race Day expansion, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the franchise. This DLC introduces “Event Roads” that allow you to transform ordinary city streets into temporary circuits for motor racing, cycling, and running events. The expansion includes new specialized buildings like Race HQ and pit garages, alongside spectator stands to handle the crowds.

Accompanying the paid DLC is a free update for all players that adds a new Employment Info View, allowing for much more granular management of your workforce, and a new fence placement tool.

Hearts of Iron IV: Warships of the Pacific

Paradox has bolstered the naval side of WWII with the Warships of the Pacific cosmetic pack. Priced at $4.99, it adds 30 new 3D ship models across five nations, including iconic vessels like the Japanese battleship Kongo, the carrier Shinano, and the American Nevada-class battleships. The release arrived alongside the 1.17.5 Patch, which brings significant quality-of-life improvements to the naval game.

Going Medieval – 1.0 Full Release

After years in Early Access and over 1 million units sold, Going Medieval officially launched its 1.0 version on March 17. The update is a massive leap forward, introducing Renown and Global Stats, which track your settlement’s progress across military, trade, and intellectual categories.

Wargame Design Studio Game of the Week

Wargame Design Studio (WDS) has named Sword & Siege: Crusades: Book I as the Game of the Week for March 16–22. During this window, the title is available at a 25% discount. The timing is particularly notable as the game recently received a significant patch that added ladders for siege combat and refreshed 2D and 3D terrain graphics. Crusades: Book I covers the era of the First and Second Crusades and features 70 scenarios.

Armoured Commander 2 Adds Hundreds of New Units

To round this week, the niche but beloved WWII tank roguelike, Armoured Commander II, has received one of its most expansive updates to date. Update 1.3.0, which went live on March 14, officially integrates the massive “Overhaul Mod” into the base game, adding hundreds of new units across various factions.

That’s all I got for you this week! Everyone is focused on the Steam Spring Sale 2026, and so am I! Right now, I’m on my way back to start playing some of the games I just bought!
