Quite possibly the major release of 2025, Anno 117: Pax Romana just came out, and it’s currently occupying the number one spot on Steam’s trending list. This grand city-builder thrusts players into the heart of the Roman Empire in 117 AD, where they’ll act as a governor, responsible for creating prosperous settlements and expanding the glory of Rome through trade, economic and diplomatic accomplishments, and for the first time in a long time in the Anno series, also through the use of military power. The game is set across diverse regions, from the Latium heartlands to the untamed wild of Celtic Albion. After the roaring success of Anno 1800, Anno 117: Pax Romana managed to deliver on its premise of being a good strategic city builder with deep historical flavor for fans of the series.
Conclusion
November 2025 has turned out to be an incredible month for strategy fans, and plenty of experiences are riding high on Steam’s trending tab, from charming colony builders such as Whiskerwood and Anno, historical real-time strategy with Master of Command, and even in-depth simulations like Flashpoint Campaigns: Cold War and Europa Universalis 5. The year might be coming to an end soon, but at least we have a stacked line-up of amazing titles that’ll keep us busy for months to come. And with the Steam Winter Sale coming soon, it might be a great time to start looking into these games and wishlist them!
