The 10 Best Turn-Based Strategy Games To Wishlist In 2025

1 – Star Wars Zero Company

Holding the top spot on my wishlist for the best turn-based strategy games is the game I’m most excited about of all: Star Wars: Zero Company. If you know anything about me, it is the fact that I love Star Wars, and for years, I have been saying that a small-scale turn-based strategy game based on the Star Wars Universe would be perfect. In a franchise where there are hundreds of speciality troops (Clones and Stormtroopers), Jedis with special abilities, and a lot of alien races, it’s just a perfect fit. Better yet, Star Wars: Zero Company is being developed by a team that includes veterans of the legendary XCOM series. This game is a single-player, narrative-driven experience set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. It promises XCOM-inspired tactical gameplay with a gritty, authentic story and a diverse, customizable squad. With a team that has a proven track record, this is the tactical Star Wars game fans have been dreaming of.

Turn-Based Strategy Games Will Dominate 2025 and 2026

As you can see, 2025 and 2026 are poised to be incredible years for turn-based strategy games. Whether you’re a fan of deep, story-rich CRPGs, punishing roguelikes, or expansive 4X titles, there’s a game on this list for you. From the return of iconic franchises like Heroes of Might and Magic to the debut of exciting new IPs like Star Wars: Zero Company, the future of the genre is brighter than ever. While we’ve highlighted ten of the most promising titles, the landscape is always evolving. Be sure to keep an eye on these games as they move toward release, and remember to check for demos or Early Access opportunities!

  1. I know you weren’t born when it was released, but at least do some research. Final Fantasy Tactics DID NOT release on any Nintendo system, at any point in time.

    1. I was, but you are right, I wrote nintendo and meant playstation!

    2. Ok but yes it did. Just the titles were slightly changed

We didn’t put Super Robot Wars Y. You guys have no love fore the visuals and it’s the perfect combination of strategy RPG and anime robots. You have problems. Also, the only system to feature the original FFT and not a remake is PS1. Gameboy advance and NDS got sequels and PSVita and cell phones got the War of the Lions remake

  4. The option to choose between enhanced and classic versions shows real respect for both new players and veterans. animasi

  5. […] So, with all that being said, where do I think the game could improve? As of right now, without the meta-layer, it’s hard to see how foundational mechanics like each of the squad leaders’ personalities will play a role, and how progression is going to impact my overall enjoyment of the title. From a purely tactical standpoint, I think MENACE is almost right on point, with solid mechanics, fun and addictive gameplay, and it managed to fuel my desire for more. In fact, I’m currently traveling as this article is going live, and this MENACE demo is going to be my sole entertainment for the rest of the week. From what I have seen, MENACE has certainly won its spot on my 10 Best Turn-Based Strategy Games To Wishlist In 2025. […]
