15 – Panzer Strike
For veterans of the golden age of real-time strategy and newcomers seeking pure, unadulterated tactical combat, Panzer Strike from ISAK Team is poised to be a standout addition to your 2025 PC wargames wishlist. With a targeted Q4 2025 release, this game promises to transport players back to the gritty battlefields of World War II, delivering an authentic RTS experience reminiscent of beloved classics like Sudden Strike and Blitzkrieg.
There are still very few details about Panzer Strike, but by taking a look at the community feedback, it’s clear that people are extremely excited for it, and it’s going to scratch a very particular niche that other wargames and real-time strategy titles haven’t been able to. Super excited to see where this one goes. Wishlist it and keep an eye on it!
14 – Spearhead 2
There aren’t a lot of tank simulations available in the market right now. Aside from the excellent Gunner, Heat, PC! you’ll be hard-pressed to find any modern game that’s worth your while. Enter MicroProse to save the day with Spearhead 2. Announced on June 12, 2025, and with its Steam page already live, this sequel to the cult classic Spearhead promises an explosive, high-fidelity experience of 21st-century armored combat, putting you directly in command of the most advanced military vehicles on Earth, the M1A2 Abrams tank. The game is going for an extremely high fidelity when it comes to graphical details and simulation.
When perusing its Steam page, I came across the idea that the game is going to emphasize realistic vehicle maintenance, in-field repair mechanics, and the crucial role of logistics in order to ensure that your vehicle remains combat-ready under fire. I’m not so sure this is what I want from a tank-simulation game, as I would rather the developing team focus their efforts on creating the best possible simulation, but let’s wait and see how it turns out. If you’re a player looking for an alternative to Gunner, HEAT, PC! then Spearhead 2 might just be the game you were looking for.

Master of Command is poised to be a pivotal historical real-time strategy wargame when it comes out in 2025, and it should already be at the top of your wargaming wishlist this year. Developed and published by Armchair History Interactive, the game is a unique blend of RTS, wargame and roguelite grand strategy set in the 18th century, where players will take part in the brutal battles of the Seven Years’ War, by commanding their armies throughout long campaigns where they must take care of their logistics, feed their men, manage their army and equipment and take care of their most experienced units. In my preview of the game, I said that I’m still a bit wary of how well the whole roguelite experience is going to sit with the more historically-minded crowd, but I get that we will find out when the game releases in September 2025.
